Barb started her career in printing out of college at RR Donnelley. She began as a customer service representative and quickly moved to customer service manager. Along the way she was awarded the very prestigious RRD President’s Award for her work with the plant’s largest customer – New England Business Service – and how her innovations saved this customer time and money. Barb moved over to the publication side of the business and handled accounts such as Time Inc. and McGraw Hill. She was instrumental on the Time Select start up team for bringing variable data printing to the publishing industry.
She left RR Donnelley to become Vice President of List Services for Quebecor Printing. Barb worked with all the Quebecor plants to offer consistent ink jet imaging and data management across the company. She helped bring Viking Office Products to Quebecor Printing and worked with them on their variable data offerings. She helped them utilize their database to prompt their customers what they might need to buy. This very successful program was rolled out to Viking Office Products worldwide.
She became Director of Post Press Operations for American Color Graphics after leaving Quebecor printing. At American Color Graphics she helped launch the monthly mailing program for Home Depot which required coordination across all the printing plants to get 13 million pieces of mail in home within a tight in-home window. She worked with all the plants to make sure there was consistency across all facets of the job. She also helped on other large national accounts such as Dollar General, Tractor Supply Company, Eckerd’s, and CVS - to name a few.

Tom
Owner
Tom started his career at the Valley Morning Star newspaper in Harlingen, TX. There he was hired as a proofreader for the old hot metal typography where he learned to read upside down and backwards. As technology changed he became the lead camera operator shooting b+w pages as well as creating spot color ads. He went to a technical school during the day to learn photography and darkroom techniques.
The next step was a move to Austin, TX to get into the full color separation business in the Texas capital. Those 11 years were spent in all phases of color and print work with very successful sales numbers also. Years of producing Texas Monthly and Texas Parks and Wildlife plus printer and agency work have proven to be a great base for current work.
Then the opportunity came to work for the national prepress house American Color. Tom moved to Houston for 3 years and then transferred to Nashville, TN when there was a need for a sales representative to handle the Service Merchandise account for photography and prepress. He spent 17 successful years working for American Color and the American Color Graphics. This is where he met Barb. Together they captured a major retail account and started American Mail.
